Neighbors, directed by Rachel Goldberg will premiere on May 9th, at the DGA in Los Angeles, as part of AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women Showcase. The film is written by Jonathan Pope Evans and Rachel Goldberg and celebrates the beauty of unlikely friendships. Maggie, played by Kelli Garner (Lars & the Real Girl, Kids, The Aviator), is agoraphobic, unable to leave her dilapidated trailer even to visit her sick mother. When Lamay, played by Edi Gathegi (Twilight, X-Men, House), a feisty transvestite in an abusive relationship, moves into the trailer next door, the two begin a strange friendship that helps each of them find the strength to move forward in their lives. Jen Malone of Black & White Entertainment proudly music supervised the film.
